At Gem Classic Cars, we are delighted to reintroduce a vehicle that has been part of our journey for many years—the 1977 Autobianchi A112 Abarth, a compact icon that embodies the essence of Italian automotive passion. It is the 3rd series Abarth (rarest of the 7 series built).

Originally acquired from its first owner in Italy in 2011, this car has been under our care and meticulous attention ever since. After a period of careful storage in Belgium, we embarked on a comprehensive bare-metal, nut-and-bolt restoration, which has elevated this A112 Abarth to an exceptional standard.

In 2020, this beautifully restored example was sold to a discerning collector in the United States, who ensured it remained in impeccable condition. Today, we are proud to bring this rare gem back to market.

The car’s exterior has been masterfully refinished in its original factory blue, using the finest materials to ensure a finish that not only captures the spirit of the era but also stands the test of time. Inside, the cabin has been reupholstered in black, blending comfort with a period-correct aesthetic that enhances the overall driving experience.

Under the hood, the original 1.0-liter inline-four engine has been completely rebuilt, and now features a performance camshaft and a stainless-steel exhaust system. The 13-inch Campagnolo alloy wheels, adorned with Abarth-logo center caps, add a touch of motorsport pedigree and are shod with new Yokohama tires at each corner, ensuring excellent grip and handling.

No detail was overlooked during the restoration, with the brake and suspension components also receiving comprehensive overhauls. The result is a car that not only looks the part but drives with the kind of precision and agility that made the A112 Abarth a favorite among enthusiasts.

Accompanying this exceptional vehicle are hand-written logs documenting its history, along with all records from the extensive refurbishment process. The restoration, completed at the end of 2019, involved a total investment of approximately $45,000, a testament to the commitment to quality and authenticity that defines this car.

This 1977 Autobianchi A112 Abarth represents a unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts. Its return to Gem Classic Cars is a homecoming that we are honored to facilitate, and we look forward to finding it a new home where it will be cherished for years to come.
