1976 Ferrari 308 GTB IMSA / SCCA GT-2 Race Car – Chassis #18825

For Sale – Historic fiberglass-bodied 308 GTB race car with documented SCCA and UK race history, rebuilt 3.2L engine, and period IMSA GTU-spec widebody.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the earliest fiberglass Ferrari 308 GTBs—chassis #18825, originally built in 1976, imported to the U.S. from Europe in 1984, and professionally converted into a dedicated race car shortly after by the Vehicle Performance Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Converted for IMSA GTU / SCCA GT-2 racing (1984–1985)

  • Raced in the U.S. (1985–1989) with extensive documentation and logbooks

  • Raced in the U.K. (1990s) in AMOC Intermarque series (David Higgins)

  • Sold and overhauled in Germany (2007), with full engine and system rebuild by Modena Motorsport

  • Fresh mechanical inspection in 2025 (Belgium) — recent fluids, pedal box, and system checks

  • Rare original fiberglass roof panel, with IMSA-style widebody conversion

  • Custom airbox, dry-sump oil system, and 8 individual throttle bodies

  • Ferrari 328-based 3.2L V8 (Engine #F105A 02968), race-prepped

  • Special camshafts, high-compression pistons, lightweight flywheel, racing clutch

  • Estimated 330 hp

  • Gearbox and brakes function like new

  • Timing belt and engine oil verified to be recent and in excellent condition

  • SCCA logbook with multiple entries and scrutineering stamps

  • Handwritten race history summary (1985–1989)

  • U.K. event results with photo evidence

  • Invoices from Modena Motorsport (Germany) and Classic Division (Belgium)

  • Mechanically excellent; strong engine, clutch, and gearbox

  • Cosmetic condition is that of an authentic race car: functional and unpolished

  • Fuel cell and harness dates are past due

  • Ideal for vintage racing, Ferrari club track events, or historic motorsport preservation

A unique, honest, and well-documented racing Ferrari—ready for its next chapter.
