Offered for sale is a 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT Coupe, finished in black with silver Shelby stripes, based on the Mustang GT Premium platform and showing just over 61,000 miles. This is not a standard Mustang with cosmetic additions, but a genuine Shelby-built car, modified and completed by Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas.

Unlike regular production Mustangs, the Shelby GT follows a unique process: the car was first built by Ford in Michigan, then shipped to Shelby for transformation. This mirrors the original 1960s Shelby formula and gives the car a far more authentic pedigree than typical special editions.

This example is equipped with the 4.6L 3-valve V8 engine, producing approximately 319–325 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It benefits from Shelby-specific upgrades including a cold air intake, ECU calibration, performance exhaust, and Ford Racing suspension, resulting in improved balance, sharper handling, and a more engaging driving experience compared to a standard Mustang GT.

Visually, the car retains the clean and purposeful Shelby design language, featuring the signature dual stripes, functional hood scoop and Shelby badging.

According to the CARFAX report, the car has had three previous owners, has been used as a personal vehicle throughout its life, and currently shows 61,113 miles. It has no history of total loss, no title issues, and no structural damage reported. A minor cosmetic accident was recorded in 2014, involving rear-end contact, with no indication of lasting issues.

The vehicle has spent the majority of its life in North Carolina before later registration in Massachusetts, and has been consistently maintained, with 14 recorded service entries. It presents as a well-kept and properly used example, not a neglected or heavily modified car.

With approximately 5,600 units produced for 2007 (out of around 6,000 planned), the Shelby GT Coupe remains a relatively rare model, especially when compared to standard Mustang GTs. It occupies a unique position in the Shelby lineup—less extreme than the GT500, but lighter, more balanced, and closer in spirit to the original Shelby Mustangs.

The car drives exactly as intended: composed, responsive, and engaging, with usable performance and a classic rear-wheel-drive feel. It offers a more analog and connected experience than many modern performance cars, without sacrificing everyday usability.

Importantly, this Shelby GT remains close to its original configuration and has not been subjected to heavy aftermarket modification, preserving its character and long-term collectibility.

The aluminium front hood shows some light oxidation around the hood pins, a common cosmetic issue on these cars due to the material. The paint and Shelby stripes remain original but display light wear consistent with age, and would benefit from a full professional polish to restore their depth and finish.

This is an opportunity to acquire a genuine Shelby-built car with documented history, balanced performance, and increasing recognition among enthusiasts as one of the more authentic modern Shelby models.

From the Buyer

I am so happy with my new Shelby!  I love just looking at it, and the driving experience is significantly better that my last S197 Mustang GT.  The extra hp and the rear end gearing change really wakes the car up, plus it handles way better and sounds great. It’s a whole new kind of fun and a serious piece of Americana.  I also feel like l stepped into the collector car world without even trying and for very reasonable money.  Thank you Eric!  Life is too short to drive boring cars.
