This 1928–29 Brookville Roadster is a pure expression of early American hot rodding, built from the ground up with a deep respect for the raw, mechanical spirit of beach racing. Sitting on a boxed Model A frame, it is powered by a 238 cubic inch 1939 Flathead V8, equipped with a balanced crank, aluminum rods, a racing cam, and period-correct Edmunds heads and intake. Power is delivered through a ’39 transmission to a Posie banjo rear end, creating a setup that is both authentic and purpose-built.

Up front, the car features friction shocks and an Oakie Joe’s dropped ’32 axle with matching spindles, while 1940 Ford hydraulic “juice” brakes provide stopping power. Every component reflects a careful commitment to period-correct engineering and performance.

Built in 2015 by Steve Lamery, a lifelong New Hampshire craftsman and self-taught mechanic, this roadster is the product of decades of hands-on experience and a genuine passion for traditional hot rods. After a lifetime spent building and repairing cars in his own shop, Steve retired but never lost his connection to the machines that defined his career. Inspired by the beach racers of the 1940s and ’50s, he set out to create a car that would capture that era’s spirit as faithfully as possible.

The result is a machine that doesn’t just look the part—it lives it. This roadster competed in The Race of Gentlemen (TROG) in New Jersey in 2017 and 2018, proving both its authenticity and capability in one of the most respected vintage racing events in the country.

Built entirely from scratch with dedication and precision, this Brookville Roadster stands out for its quality, its performance, and the story behind it—a true tribute to the golden age of American hot rodding.
